Early Help – Supporting Children, Young People and Families
We understand that family life can sometimes be challenging, and there may be times when children, young people and their families need additional advice, guidance or support. At our school, we believe that every child deserves to feel safe, happy, supported and able to reach their full potential.
Early Help is about providing the right support at the right time. It aims to identify and address any difficulties that children, young people or families may be experiencing before they become more serious. By working together with families and other professionals, we can help ensure that children and young people receive the support they need to thrive both at home and in school.
How can Early Help support you?
Early Help can provide support with a wide range of challenges that families may face, including:
-
Children's emotional wellbeing and mental health.
-
Behavioural difficulties and managing emotions.
-
Parenting advice and support with family relationships.
-
School attendance, learning and development.
-
Friendships, social relationships and difficulties at school.
-
Changes in family circumstances, such as separation, bereavement or financial difficulties.
-
Supporting children and young people with additional needs.
-
Accessing local services, community groups and other sources of support.
Every family's circumstances are different, and Early Help is designed to provide support that is appropriate to their individual needs.
How we can help
As a school, we are committed to working closely with parents, carers and families to provide a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable asking for help.
If you are experiencing difficulties or have concerns about your child's wellbeing, development or family circumstances, we encourage you to speak to a member of our school staff. We can listen to your concerns, offer advice and help you explore the support that may be available.
Where additional support is needed, we can work alongside you and other appropriate professionals to identify the most suitable services for your family.
We recognise that asking for help can sometimes feel difficult. However, seeking support early can make a positive difference, helping families to overcome challenges and ensuring children and young people have the best possible opportunities to succeed.
Worcestershire's Early Help Offer
Worcestershire County Council provides information, advice and guidance to support children, young people and families through its Early Help approach.
The aim is to ensure that families can access appropriate support when they need it, whether through schools, health services, community organisations or other professionals working with children and families.
Early Help promotes a joined-up approach, encouraging families and professionals to work together to identify strengths, understand any challenges and agree on the support that may be beneficial.
